Bangladesh Construction Workers' Union
The national representative council of Bangladesh Construction Workers' Union was held at the Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh in the city's Ramna on Wednesday. State Minister for Ministry of Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque was present as the chief guest in the programme. While speaking Mujibul said that compensation for accidental death of workers would be increased by at least cent percent from the existing Taka one lakh. The minister also stressed the need for taking safety precautions at construction sites, saying, "Construction workers should wear necessary safety equipments during work as it will help reduce accidental deaths in construction sites."The function was also addressed, among others, by Workers Party General Secretary Fazle Hossain Badshah, MP, Advisory Council Member of Awami League Mozaffar Hossain Paltu and General Secretary of Bangladesh Trade Union Kendra Dr Wajedul Islam Khan. President of the organisation Rabiul Islam presided over the event.
