BCL men assault female quota reformists at CU

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men allegedly assaulted the female members of Bangladesh General Students' Rights Protection Council during a demonstration at Chittagong University (CU) on Sunday.
They also threatened to slaughter a journalist who tried to take photos of the incident. Witnesses said the BCL men swooped on the female Council activists around 11am when they were forming a human chain at the CU Central Shaheed Minar demanding the release of their leaders and a safe campus.
They also beat CU Jagonews correspondent and CU Journalist Association executive committee member Abduallah H Rakib and snatched his mobile phone as he tried to take photos of the attack.
The victim alleged that BCL leader Azad Hossain also threatened to slaughter him when he went to take back his mobile phone.
Meanwhile, CU Journalist Association condemned the attack on its member.
