64 held in anti-drug drives in two districts
At least 64 people were held in anti-drug drives in Sherpur and Chapainawabganj districts from Monday night to Tuesday morning.
In Sherpur, 40 people were arrested along with 37 grams of heroin, 100 Yaba pills and 1 kg helm from different places.
Additional Police Superintendent Md Aminul Islam said at least 11 cases were filed against the arrestees with different police stations in the district.
Chapainawabganj Correspondent adds: In Chapainawabganj, 24 others were arrested from different places of Sadar and Shibganj upazilas, said inspector Idris Ali of Sadar Police Station.
On Tuesday noon in PTI Milpara area, executive magistrate Nayan Kumar conducted an anti-drug drive, he said.
The mobile court awarded four months jails to each of the four drug addicts.
The rest were arrested in drives from different places.
