Highest security for National Eidgah

Facing the Eid festivity Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia on Thursday said every measure has been taken to give safety to the people while ruling out any threat from militants at the moment.
Despite peaceful environment, the DMP commissioner law enforcers have taken strict security measures keeping in mind past militant attacks on people and establishments including attack at Sholakia Eidghah in Kishoregonj in 2016.
HE said necessary measures were also taken to give highest protection to Eid congreassion at National Eidgah in the High Court ground in the city. He said male devotees will be allowed to bring prayer mats and umbrellas. Female may also bring their hand bags to Eid prayer ground, he added.
The militants who are on bail are under special monitoring. Multi-level security measures have been implemented in the city, the DMP Commissioner told reporters after inspecting the preparations of Eid prayers at National Eidgah.
There will be CCTV cameras, dog squads, bomb disposal units, SWAT and cops in plainclothes on duty in and around the Eidgah along with law enforcers of other agencies, he said.
