Application for regn of 73 pol parties cancelled

The Election Commission cancelled 73 political parties' applications for registration for their failure to meet the conditions set by the EC. However, applications of Gono Azadi League and Bangladesh Congress are under consideration. The EC cancelled the registration of Oikiyobaddho Nagorik Andolon also.
The decision was taken on Tuesday. After the meeting, EC secretary Helaluddin Ahmed disclosed it.
Helaluddin said, EC had requested the political parties for giving some informations. Oikiyobaddho Nagorik Andolon did not submit the information. EC allowed 15 more days for this, but they failed. Finally, EC decided to cancel their registration.  
Oikiyobaddo Nagorik Andolon was floated by Faruk Ahmed in 2008 during so-called caretaker government. With this cancellation of Oikiyobaddho Nagorik Andolon's  registration, the number of political parties is now 39.
The EC had issued a public notification in October seeking party registration for the eleventh Parliamentary elections. 75 parties applied for registration. Most of these parties are less familiar, namesake only. However, several groups such as United NAP, Mahmudur Rahman Manna's Nagorik Oikiyo, Bangladesh Jasad led by Sharif Nurul Ambia, and Ganasonghati Movement of Jonayed Sakies also applied for registration. They were also excluded from the selection. However, the Gana Sanghati Movement sent a letter to the EC on Monday that they had fulfilled all the conditions and are entitled to be registered.
Former minister Nazmul Huda's Trinamool BNP is not getting the registration. EC Secretary Helaluddin told reporters that Nazmul Huda had to apply for registration of Trinamool BNP. But he submitted an application after the scheduled time. Later he went to the court. The court asked for consideration by verifying. The EC verified that this team was not eligible for registration. He did not pay the government fees. Besides, it did not submit within the stipulated time.
