Man held for violating minor girl in city

Young man has been caught red-handed for reportedly violating a six-year old girl in the city's Duaripara area.
Neighbours of the victim caught Khalilur Rahman alias Khalil, 35, a rickshaw puller and handed him over to Rupnagar police area on Tuesday.
The victim was admitted to One-stop Crisis (OCC) Center of the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, Police said.
Quoting victim's maternal uncle, Rupnagar Police Station Sub-Inspector Uttam Kumar said that the victim, a first-grader of
BRAC primary school, was alone in their residence at Duaripara and Khalil entered her room and 'raped' her.
Hearing her scream, locals rushed in and caught Khalil red-handed, the SI said.
The girl is seriously traumatised and a forensic test was conducted on her, said OCC Coordinator Dr Bilkis Begum.
