Community Based Tourism, Bangladesh

An awareness campaign on food hygiene organised jointly by Community Based Tourism (CBT), Bangladesh and Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) was held at the  Russian Cultural Center in the city on Monday with the slogan of 'Healthy Food in
Hygienic Environment'.  It was launched in the city for ensuring healthy food to consumers during the month of holy Ramzan. As many as 50 local restaurant-workers and food vendors of Dhanmondi Rabindra Sorobor, Bangabandhu Museum and Sangsad Bhaban area participated in the programme. Additional Secretary of Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry Saifullah Mokbul Murshed inaugurated the awareness campaign with presence of BTB CEO Nikhil Ranjan Roy. The awareness programme focused the issues of personal hygiene, preparation of food in hygienic environment, food sales technique and good personal behaviour. The experts from tourism sector of Bangladesh provided hands-on training to the local restaurant workers and food vendors of the said areas.
