5 poachers arrested along with venison from Sundarbans

Some 5 poachers who entered the Eastern Division of Sundarbans under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district in the plea of collecting saline water for shrimp hatcheries were arrested by the Smart Patrolling Team of the forest department along with venison and traps at Saturday night on the charge of illegal intrusion in the forest and hunting deer, according to a delayed report received here. On the other hand, 2 fishermen were also arrested by the forest department from the same division of Sundarbans on the charge of illegal intrusion in the forest and catching crabs unlawfully at the same night.  
 It is learnt from a source of the forest department that the poachers of deer were arrested along with a cargo vessel named MV. Madinap-1 from Manikkhali area within Shelarchar patrol outpost under Sharankhola forest range. Later the smart patrolling team searched the cargo and recovered 230 traps for catching deer, 30 kgs flesh of spotted deer of the forest, 3 big sized knives and an axe from it.
The arrestees are Biswajit Mridha (42) of village Amtala within Dakop Upazila in Khulna district, Al-Amin Khan (23) of village Daspara under Baufal Upazila in Patuakhali district, Hasan (22) of village Charkajal under Galachipa Upazila, Joynal Abedin ) of village Choto Charkusum under the same Upazila and in the same district and Roni Sardar (18) of village Nawapara under Asasuni Upazila in Satkhira district.
