3rd national men's, 1st national women's Sepaktakraw Championships begin

The Gazi Tyres and the Blazer BD 3rd national men's and first national women's Sepaktakraw Championships began on Sunday at the Dhaka Volleyball Stadium here.
Secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC) Masud Karim inaugurated the two-day meet in the afternoon. President of Bangladesh Sepaktakraw Association Kazi Rajibuddin Ahmed Chapal and general secretary Mohammad Faruk Dali were also present on the occasion.
A total of 120 men's players from 24 districts and 50 women's players from 10 districts are taking part in the meet.
In the men's section, 24 teams, split into eight groups, are initially taking part in the meet and later group champions will qualify for the quarterfinals.
In the women's group, ten teams, divided in two groups, are initially competing and later the group champions and runners-up will qualify for the semifinals.
The final match will be held on Monday at 5 pm.
