Dhaka Tribune emerged as the champions of the Walton-BSJC Media Cup Football Tournament defeating bdnews24.com by 4-2 goals in the final at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Saturday. bdnews24.com became runners-up of the meet.
Real of Dhaka Tribune scored four goals with a hat-trick.
On the other hand, Maidul of bdnews24.com netted two goals.
Real of Dhaka Tribune was adjudged the Man of the Final, while Maidul of bdnews24.com was adjudged the Man of the Tournament.
The champions were awarded Taka thirty thousand and a trophy, while the runners-up got Taka twenty thousand and a trophy. The Man of the Final and the Man of the Tournament were given Taka five thousand and a trophy each.
Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy, MP, was the chief guest at the prize-giving ceremony, while MA Awal, MP, Senior Operative Director (Head of Games & Sports Department) of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn were with him as special guests.
President of Bangladesh Sports Journalists Community (BSJC) Asif Iqbal presided over the prize-giving ceremony.
The other guests are: former footballer of Bangladesh National Football team Md Iqbal Hossain, former national badminton champion Enayetullah Khan, Honourary Member of BSJC Naeem Hossain.
Besides, Senior Vice-President of BSJC Main Uddin Tareq, Vice-President of BSJC Masud Parvez, General Secretary of BSJC Sakir Ruben, Joint-Secretary of BSJC Monir Hossain Khan, Publication and Office Secretary of BSJC Anwar Hossain, Members of BSJC Abdul Mukit Rubel, Rakibul Islam, Zihadur Rahman Zihad, Abu Darda Jubaer, Masudur Rahman, Convener of the Tournament Committee Kamal Hossain Bablu, Member Secretary of the Tournament Committee Jashim Uddin Rana were present, among others.
