Govt formed minimum wage boards in 38 sectors: Chunnu

The government has formed minimum wage board in 38 sectors out of 43 sectors across the country, State Minister for Labour and Employment Mujibul Haque Chunnu said.
"The wage board formed for the readymade garment's workers would submit its recommendation with fixing new salary structure within three months," he told newsmen a press conference at his ministry conference room here on Tuesday.
The state minister said the government formed the wage board on January 29, adding, "The present government provided Taka 22 crore to 2,650 workers of Sramik Kallyan Foundation. Currently the foundation has a deposit of Taka 283 crore in it's fund."
He urged all industrialists to deposit five percent from their net profit to the Sramik Kallyan Foundation as per the Labour Act.
