People won`t accept eye wash polls: Dr. Kamal

The people of Bangladesh will not accept any election same as January 5 type eye wash election, said Gono Forum President Dr. Kamal Hossain in a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Gono Forum at Bangladesh Shisu Kalyan Parishad Auditorium in the capital on Thursday.
"The mass people will not accept any eye wash election arranged only to hold the power. People want their right to vote. They also want to cast their vote with a peaceful and calm environment," he added.  
He also said if the January 5 type election happens the people will lose their faith on the poll system and democracy. Moreover, it will also help the rise of different communal groups."Bribery-corruption-terrorism, grouping, disappearance, extrajudicial killings are going on, which attack the root of the state machinery. This situation can not be allowed to continue. The people must be united to achieve democracy, rule of law, right to fair elections," he added.
Advocate Subrata Chowdhury, Shantiposh Ghosh, Jaglul Haider Afrik, A O M Shafiqullah, Mostak Ahmed, Ayub Khan Faruq, Rafiqul Islam Pathik, Rowshan Yazdani, Nripen Ghosh, Abdul Hasib Chowdhury, Khan Siddiqur Rahman, Saidur Rahman, Bilkis Banu were present in the meeting.
