Brazilian Week at Dhaka Regency

Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort, in proud collaboration with the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil, will be hosting ‘Brazilian Week’ food and cultural festivalevery evening between 6:00pm and 10:30pm at the hotel from Saturday, April 21 to April 28 at the hotel’s all-day dining venue Grandiose Restaurant, says a press release.
Guests who join this gastronomic exploration may savor an array of exciting lavish delights carefully prepared by the celebrity chefs who have been flown in by the embassy to provide local residents an opportunity to experience Brazil's culinary heritage.
A buffet dinner comprising of wonderful dishes such as premium cut beef BBQ called picanha, clay pot stew moqueca, sweet truffles Brigadeiros, and more will be available to guests at Tk 3,490. Cardholders of various partner banks will also be able to enjoy Buy One Get One offer on this buffet price.
The festival was inaugurated on Friday, April 20, 2018 evening amidst 200 dignitaries. His ExcellencyJoãoTabajara de Oliveira Jùnior, Ambassador to the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil, and Shahid Hamid FIH, Executive Director of Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort presided over the launch ceremony. Also in attendance were Celebrity Chefs Ronny Peterson and Marcos Vieira as well as a musical troupe accompanying popular soul singer Indiana Nomma.
At the event, His Excellency informed the audience, "From the moment I came to Dhaka, I realized the first thing I have to do is show more of Brazil to the people of Bangladesh and of Bangladesh to Brazil. The passion of the people in this country wonderfully complements that of my country. So when this opportunity to collaborate with Dhaka Regency for a festival arose, it was music to my ears!"
“The people of Bangladesh have always associated Brazil with football,” said the Executive Director of Dhaka Regency. “However, we cannot fully appreciate the rich heritage and unique cuisine of this vibrant nation. When His Excellency and I began brainstorming about hosting a festival a few weeks ago, we could not pass this exciting opportunity to bring the Brazilian experience to our guests here in Dhaka.” n
