Seven nabbed with arms in Cox's Bazar

At least seven persons were arrested with 11 arms and huge ammunition from a salt-shrimp enclosure at Purba Gomatoli area in Sadar Upazila here on Tuesday morning.
The arrestees are: Helal Uddin, son of Mohajer Ahmed of Sadar Upazila, Mohammad Abdur Shukkur, son of Syed Ahmed of the area, Nurul Hakim, son of Montaj Mahmud of Achakhali Village in Notun Bazaar area, Abdur Razzak, son of Rashid Ahmed of Fashiakhali Village, Jasimuddin, son of late Bodiuzzaman in Purba Pukkhali Village, Mohammad Mobin, son of Syed Noor in Gomatoli Village and Abdur Rahman, son of Amir Mohammad.
RAB-7 Cox's Bazar Company Commander Major Mohammad Ruhul Amin confirmed the matter.
Major Ruhul Amin said the armed gang had been involved with grabbing land, extortion and robbery for long. On a tip-off, a RAB team raided the said area and seized six one shooter-gun, five SBBL and 18 rounds of bullets.
