Model United Nations Confce at ULAB

University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) is going to step into the Model United Nation practice by launching its first MUN simulation, ULAB Model United Nations Conference 2018 on Thursday. This year a two-day long conference will be held with the theme "Public and Private Partnership for Sustainable Development" at ULAB Campus A premises, Dhanmondi in the capital.  
State Minister of Power, Energy and Resources, Nasrul Hamid Bipu and Humayun Kabir (retd), Ambassador of Bangladesh in Washington, DC Ministry of Foreign Affairs will grace the occasion with their valuable presence as Chief Guests of the event while Kazi Ali Reza,Probal Siddhartho Goshwami and Habibur Rahaman will also be in the attendence as session guests.
The conference is going to be attended by around 200 delegates of different member states of United Nations under 5 committees.
The committees are: United Nations Security Council (UNSC), Special Committee for Bangladesh Affairs (SCBA), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP),United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).
In the committee sessions significant national and international issues such as global peace and security, law and justice, regional issues, climate issues, terrorism, conciliatory procedure, neighborhood motivation, marine and terrestrial ecosystems, environmental governance and green economy, human rights etc. will be addressed and discussed. The openning ceremony of the conference will start on 9.00 a.m and the openning plenary session will start at 10.00 a.m.
The hosted committee sessions will lead the delegates to pass draft resolutions and to prepare a draft resolution paper on their agenda that will be passed in the plenary.
The whole event is taking place under the keen supervision of its Chief Advisor Prof Dr HM Jahirul Haque, Vice Chancellor, ULAB; Prof Imran Rahman, Special Advisor to the ULAB Board of Trustees; Moderator Prof Dr Shamsad Mortuza, Head of the Department of English and Humanities, ULAB and Mamun Mia, President, UNYSAB.
