HUB celebrates 6th Founding Anniv

Chairman of the University Grants Commission Prof Abdul Mannan attends the 6th Founding Anniversary of Hamdard University Bangladesh at Hamdard Nagor, Gazaria, Munshiganj recently.

Hamdard University Bangladesh (HUB) celebrated its 6th Founding Anniversary and organized Freshers' Reception of Spring Semester, 1st Professional BUMS and BAMS 2018 and Guardian Convention on its campus at Hamdard Nagor, Gazaria, Munshiganj recently. Chairman of the University Grants Commission Prof Abdul Mannan was the Chief guest on the occasion while the Vice- Chairman of BoT and Dean, Faculty of Unani and Ayurvedic Medicine Prof AK Azad Khan, Vice-Chancellor of Rajshahi Medical University, Prof Masum Habib, member of the BoT Lt Gen Abu Tayeb Md. Zahirul Alam (Retd.) were present as special guests.
Among other dignitaries, members of the Board of Trustees Mohammad Zamal Uddin (Russell), Lt Colonel Mahbubul Alam Chowdhury (Retd.), Dr Hakim Nargish Marjhan , Treasurer of the University Prof Dr Ghulam Murtaza,  Registrar Md. Lutfur Rahman, Controller of Examinations Md. Nurul Huda, all Deans of the faculties  and  all Heads of the Departments along with their faculty members, students and their guardian were present at the program.
HUBVice Chancellor Prof Md. Abdul Mannan PhD presided the program.
UGC Chairman Prof Abdul Mannan profoundly remembered the Father of the Nation Bangaboundhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, National four leaders and all martyrs who sacrificed their lives to achieve the Independence of Bangladesh. He briefly discussed the achievement of Bangladesh in different areas such as agriculture, education, economy and medical sciences after the independence of Bangladesh. He also mentioned that now Bangladesh is 37th    economic power in the world and this achievement has been brought by our young generation. In this regard, he advised that we should create skillful human resource to be a developed country. He mentioned that currently 3.5 million students are studying at different Universities in Bangladesh. In addition, he said that a university is a place where students can learn and urged to the students that they need true endeavour for learning.  At the end of his speech, he hoped HUB will give much emphasize on quality education as well as research work.       
The VC of the University Prof Md. Abdul Mannan expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the chief guest Professor Abdul Mannan for attending the event. He said that HUB has not been established for business. He also mentioned that the all upliftment of this university is done and patronized by the Hamdard Foundation Bangladesh and sought help from the UGC Chairman to open new academic programs in the remote areas universities like Hamdard University Bangladesh.  At the end of his speech, he again expressed his sincere thanks to all for assisting this University to become an international University.   
The program ended with a colorful cultural program organized by the students of the university. HUB was established on 14 March 2012 by the approval of the Government Republic of Bangladesh.
