Saif stars in Abahani's win in Premier Cricket

Opener Saif Hasan slammed a brilliant ton enabling Abahani Limited to register their third consecutive victories in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League crushing Brothers Union Club by 136 runs on Tuesday at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Asked to bat first by Brothers Union Club, Abahani Limited, rode on Saif Hasan's majestic 108-run knock to pile up a competitive total of 266 runs in their allotted 50 overs.
Solid contributions from their openers meant that Abahani had already enjoyed a solid start and were 84 for 1 when Abahani lost Anamul Haque for 41. Saif then paired another 93-run second wicket stand with Nazmul Hossain Shanto (38) to take the team's to commanding position before Shanto fell victim of run out.
Asif pillaged six fours and five number of sixes in his 132-ball knock before becoming medium-pacer Roni Hossen's first victim.
Skipper Nasir Hossain (31), Mashrafe Bin Mortaza (16) and Sunzamul Islam (12) were the other notable scorers for Abahani.
Khaled Ahmed and Roni Hossen shared two wickets for Brothers Union each conceding 44 and 66runs respectively.
Chasing a challenging target of 267 runs set by Abahani Limited, Brothers Union Club failed to put up any resistance as they were wrapped for 130 in 35.4 overs. Only three batsmen Yasir Ali (35 n.o), Junaid Siddique (24) Mizanur Rahman (24) made some promising start, but others failed to provide any real supports as in the end went down by 136 runs.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Sunzamul Islam shared three wickets each for the winners conceding 24 and 28 runs respectively while Saqlain Sajib supported the with two wickets for 8 runs.
Saif Hasan of Abahani Limited was named the player of the match for his impressive batting performance.
