8 snatchers held in city

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive detained  eight muggers from Nabanagar Housing area in the city's Mohammadpur area early Monday.
They are: Babu Mia, Mominul Islam, Abul Kalam, Badshah Khan, Sohel Hossain, Abdur Rashid alias Rubel, Ruhul Amin and Kalu Mia.
They also seized five swords, two machetes, seven mobile phone sets and Tk 2,880 in cash, said Mufti Mahmud Khan, Director of Legal and Media Wing of the RAB.
They were involved in different snatching incidents, the RAB official said.
Meanwhile, RAB on Monday claimed arrest of three arms dealers from Mohammadpur area on Sunday night. They are: Sohag Ali, 21, Md Rubel, 23, and Md Sohag alias Porag, 19, said Firuj Kawsar, Operation Officer of RAB- 2.
