DIU celebrates 16th Founding Anniversary

Daffodil International University (DIU) celebrated its 15th Founding Anniversary on Saturday with great enthusiasm and in a colorful festive mood at the permanent campus of the University at Ashulia in the capital.
Prof Dr Refik Polat, Vice Chancellor, Karabuk University in Turkey, Chair Professor KK Yoon, Chungnum National University of South Korea, Azman Bin Bidin, Managing Director of Perfect Triangle of Malaysia, Prof  Dr Mark James Bartholomew, UK , Yiping Wang, Professor, SIAS International University , China and many other foreign guests took part in the program.
Renowned journalist, editor and publisher of The Daily Star Mahfuz Anam was the Foundation Day Speaker. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU and Chairman, Daffodil Family presided over the ceremony. Conducted by Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director of Student Affairs, the function was addressed by Prof Dr Yousuf  M Islam, Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Yousuf Mahabubul Islam, Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof Dr Syed Akter Hossain, Head, Department of CSE, Prof Dr Mostafa Kamal, Dean Permanent Campus,
25000 students including 6oo foreign students took part in the program. The daylong program began with creating Human Logo " I to WE" capturing the whole vast green play ground of the campus with the participation of 20000 students.  
Addressing as Foundation Day Speaker, Mahfuf Anam said, only slogan or saying love in the mouth wouldn't make the country prosperous. It requires proof-deeds not words.  You must have to be properly educated if you want to make the country happy. You have to utilize your merit, creativity and innovative ideas to develop the country.
Mahfuz Anam gave three advices to the students to follow i.e:  not to waste their time, to keep strong self-confidence and flourishing creativity.
Dr Md. Sabur Khan said, pleasure of Foundation Anniversary is for all the students of DIU who have proven their uniqueness in terms of merit, innovation, creativity and discipline. He urged the students to uphold their speed to mould them as good citizen and keep fit them to face the global challenges. He advised the students to be positive in social media and give feedback to the society that what you learn from university.
DIU started its academic activities with only 68 students in January 24, 2002. Now the number of enrolled student is more than 18000. Due to its quality education and outstanding performance the university could make position among ten top graded private universities of Bangladesh as per evaluation of the UGC.  DIU's permanent campus in a green and serene environment holds academic building, administrative blocks, auditorium, Residential Halls, departmental faculties and an ICT center, football play ground, gymnasium, swimming pool, basket ball court, Shahid Minar and tennis court.
