10,40,51,883 voters in country: Anisul

According to the draft voter list published on January 2, 2018, the number of voters in the country is 10,40,51,883.
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Haque, who is in-charge of the Election Commission Secretariat in the House, informed this yesterday in

reply to a written question raised by treasury bench member Nizam Uddin Hazari (Feni-2). As per the draft voter list, the minister said, the number of new voters is  3,32,593.
Responding to another question from the same lawmaker, Anisul said no proposal was made to upgrade Feni Pourasabha to a city corporation.
"In line with the existing law, necessary steps will be taken if a proposal is made in this regard," he added.
