Kool-BSPA Sports Award : Shakib Al Hasan Player of the Year

Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was named Player of the Year-2017 by Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) on Saturday last at the Pan Pacific Soanargaon Hotel on Saturday. BSPA arranged the gala Kool-BSPA Sports Award ceremony at the hotel under auspices of Square Toiletries Limited.
Minister for Commerce Tofail Ahmed was the chief guest of the eye-catching programme.
Experienced all-rounder Mashrafe Bin Mortaza was chosen the Most Popular Player of the Year by vote.
President of BSPA Mustafa Mamun, General Secretary of BSPA Rizwan-uz-Zaman, Vice-President of International Sports Press Association Saba Nayeke, Head of Marketing of Square Toiletries Limited Malik Mohammad Sayeed were present, among others at the prize-giving ceremony.
The other prize winners are: Shakib Al Hasan (Cricketer of the Year), Jafar Iqbal (Footballer of the Year), Zahir Rayhan (Athlete of the Year), Zonayana Ahmed (Swimmer of the Year), Grand Master Enamul Hossain Rajib (Chess Player of the Year), Sonam Sultana Shoma (Table Tennis Player of the Year), Mohammad Salahuddin (Cricket Coach of the Year), Mofiz Uddin (Teacher of Kalasindur High School) (Grass-root level Football Personality of the Year), Mahfuza Akter Kiron (Organizer of the Year) (Football), Robi Axiata Limited (Sponsor of the Year).
Former footballer and Senior Vice-President of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Abdus Salam Murshedy and former footballer and Vice-President of BFF Badal Roy were given special awards for their contribution in Bangladesh's Football.
A good number of sports personnel were present on the occasion.
