Stocks end week up on higher transactions

Stocks ended the week on Thursday upward with rising trend of major indices at Dhaka and Chittagong stock exchanges on higher transactions.
The daily average trade value at DSE was 6.2 percent up at Taka 994.75 crore and the trade volume was 13.9 percent up at 27.77 crore shares.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the week with 40.42 points higher at 6,322.51. The Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 18.01 points up at 1393.46. But the blue-chip DS30 ended marginally 2.29 points down at 2,277.36.
Out of the 336 issues traded on DSE, 210 gained against 112 losing issues.
The top five gainers of the week were AB Bank, Shyampur Sugar, ICB Islamic Bank, ECABLES and Jute Spinning. The major losing issues of the week were Saif Power, OIMEX, Deshbandhu, Aamra Net and ICBAMCL2ND.
