Seminar held with journalists to check child trafficking

 Under the joint auspices of NGOs Udayan Bangladesh and Incidin Bangladesh a seminar was held in Bagerhat Press Club auditorium with the local journalists on Saturday morning on the topic styled as 'Shishu Pachar Protirodhe-O-Surakkhay Gana Maddham Karmider Sakkhmata Briddhir Lakkhey (In Order to Increase the Capability of Mess Media Workers For Resisting Child Trafficking and their Careful Protection)'with Shaikh Asad, Executive officer, The local unit of  Udayan of the organisation. The seminar was ceremonially inaugurated by Ahad Uddin Haidar, President of Bagerhat Press Club while it was addressed among others by Adv. Rafiqul Islam, Chief Executive of NGO Incident Bangladesh, Al-haj Abdul Baki Talukdar, General Secretary of Bagerhat Press Club and journalists Adv. M. Mozaffor Hossain, Prof. ABM. Mosharraf Husain, Shaikh Ahsanul Karim, Azmal Hossain, Rabiul Islam, Prof. Mahfizur Rahm,an, Delwar Hossain, Nihar Ranjan Saha and M. Aliakbor Tutul.  
NGO employee killed after falling from top roof in Fakirhat
Mithun Pal, an employee of a Non Government Organization (NGO) was killed when he fell from the top roof of his office building in Fakirhat Sadar bazar under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district in the early hours (at about 1 am) of Tuesdy, according to a report received here. He was the son of one Swapan Pal hails from Tala Upazila in Satkhira district.    It is learnt from the locals that the diseased was serving the NGO named SUS as its field officer in Fakirhat area. At the night of occurrence he went to the top roof of his office building accompanied by one of his colleagues and while he was taking with some one over his mobile set he suddenly slipped and fell from the roof on the ground. As a result, he was fatally injured. He was at first admitted to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex for his treatment. But when his condition became detoriated he was shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 6 am while he was undergoing treatment.
Seminar on socialist revolution held in Jessore

A seminar on Russian socialist revolution was held at Jessore Press Club on Saturday. National Democratic Front (NDF), Jessore district unit arranged the seminar. Shahjahan Kabir, assistant general secretary, NDF, read out the keynote paper at the seminar. Chaired by Tozammel Hossain, the seminar was attended among other by BM Shamimul Haque, organizing secretary, NDF, MR Khairul Umam, former president, Institute of Diploma Engineers, Pavel Chouwdhury, principal, Shahid Mashiur Degree College, Jessore and Abdul Haque. The speakers, in the seminar told that the world is in peril due to the rule of capitalism and imperialism. We should get rid of it for our economic, social and political freedom.
Munshiganj fish trader fined for selling jatkas
MUNSHIGANJ: A mobile court on Friday morning fined a fish trader Tk 5,000 for selling jatkas ((hilsa fries of less than 10 inches) in Sirajdikhan upazila headquarters.  The mobile court, led by executive magistrate and Sirajdikhan upazila nirbahi officer Tanvir Mohammad Ajim, conducted a drive at Sirajdikhan Bazar and detained Babul Das, 45, along with 9 kg jatkas, said Md Abul Kalam, officer-in-charge of Sirajdikhan Police Station. Later, the mobile court slapped the fine on him. The seized jatkas were distributed among madrasah students, reports UNB.
