DRU Media Cup Football begins today

The Minister Fridge-DRU six-a-side Media Cup Football Tournament begins today at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the city with eight matches are billed for the opening day.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon MP is expected to inaugurate the meet as the chief guest at 10 am. My One Electronics and Minister High Tec Park Limited chairman MA Razzak Khan will be present as special guest.
On this occasion a press conference was organised at DRU Sagar-Runi Milanaitane on Sunday to provide all details of the tournament. Sports Secretary Mojbur Rahman, DRU President Shakhawat Hossain Badshah, DRU's General Secretary Mursaleen Nomani all spoke on the occasion.
Tournament Committee members Shahidul Alam, Shahab Uddani Sahab, Swapan Bose and Mostafa Kamal were also present. Dhaka Reporters Unity president Shakhawat Hossain Badsha will preside over the opening ceremony.
Sponsored by My One Electronics and Minister High Tec Park Limited and organized by Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) a total of 40 teams from different news agency, prints, electronics and online media houses, split into 16 groups, will participate in the knock out basis meet.
The champions will be awarded with a cash money of Taka 40,000 while the runners-up will have Taka 20,000.
Two semi-finalists team will receive Taka 5,000 each as cash awards.
Besides, the most disciplined team and the best player of the tournament will receive fair play and best player trophies.
