A 2-day Innovative Teaching & Learning Expo-2017 ended on Saturday through Award giving Ceremony and gala cultural event held at Daffodil Tower, Sobhanbag, Dhanmondi in the capital. Prof Dr Golam Rahman, Chief Information Commissioner, Information Commission of Bangladesh was present as chief guest in the closing ceremony and distributed prizes among the winners. Daffodil Education Network and British Council, Bangladesh jointly organized the Expo while NCC Education (UK), IDP, Venturas, BSHRM, HRDI, Bangladesh Open University, 10 Mminute School, BOLD and Jobsbd.com were the strategic partner of the Expo. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil Family presided over the closing and award giving ceremony while Allan Norton, Chief Executive Officer, NCC Education, UK, Prof Dr Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University, Mosharrof Hossain, President, BSHRM and Prof Dr Khondoker Mokaddem Hossain, Pro Vice Chancellor, Bangladesh Open University were present as the special guests. The closing ceremony was also addressed by Mhmmad Nuruzzaman, Organizing Chair and Prof Dr Farid A Sobhani, Co-Chair of the Expo.
The 2 day Expo included Project Exhibition, Innovative Teaching Award, Innovative Project Award, Plenary Session, Seminar Workshop, Round Table Discussion and many other events. National and International leading academic scholars and education experts uphold their latest innovations through those seminars, workshops and round table discussion. Students of Daffodil International School performed a cultural program at the closing ceremony. Students, teachers, educationists, education activists, policy makers and persons related to education managements from all over the country took part in the Expo.
Addressing as the chief guest Chief Information Commissioner of Bangladesh Prof Dr. Golam Rahman said, Education is power. Education is all. So that we have to think about education. We should not be locked in traditional education system. We have to invent new method in education. In the mean time he said that once upon a time a few disciplines were studied in the universities. But nowadays plenty of disciplines are studied in the universities. Plenty of courses are being included in those disciplines. All of are results of innovation. It's time to innovate new teaching methods.
Professor Dr. Golam Rahman also said that Bangladesh is developing in various ways though challenges are also increasing. If we want to face those challenges we need to bring changes in education system and for that there should be arranged more and more innovative teaching and learning expo like this. Prof Dr Golam Rahman appreciated the initiative taken by  Daffodil education network and British Council for arranging such  type of Expofor the first time in Bangladesh. He also said, if we want to bring changes in our education system, we have to make our teacher innovative and technology friendly.
58 projects on innovative teaching and learning were presented in the Expo. 6 seminars, 4 workshops, 2 Plenary Session and one Round Table Discussion will be held in 2 day Expo. IDP, Ten Minute School, Agami Education Foundation and Podokhep displayed their education products and services in the Expo.
Among Teachers category the project submitted by Latifa Akter Sheuly, Head Mistress of Dalnia High School under Gopalganj Districts won the 1st Prize while the project submitted by Dr Md. Shah Alam Majumder, Curriculum Expert of Bangladesh Technical Education Board won the 2nd Prize. Among student category the project " Oxo Mask" by Md. Omar Faruk and his associates Md. Shariar Alam and Bayzid Khan of Dhaka Residential Model College won the 1st prize while "The Anyway Tunnel" Project of Subir Chandra Gope and Mashrur Ahmed of Saint Joseph Higher Secondary School won the 2nd prize among the student participants.
