Man killed, 9 injured in accident

Chittagong Bureau :
A youth was killed and nine others received injuries in a road accident on Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway in Shahgody Market area under Patiya upazila on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Akterurzzaman Mukul, 45, son of Abu Taher, an assistant manager of a private firm in Agrabad Commercial area, hailed from Jongolkhain area under Patiya upazila of the district.
Police said ten pedestrians, including Aktururzza-man, were critically injured after a speedy passenger bus knocked them from behind, losing its control over its steering on Chittagong-Cox's Bazar highway in Shahgody Market area under Patiya upazila around 8.30 am.  Locals rushed them to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where the attending doctors declared Akturur-zzaman dead, CMCH police outpost sources said. The conditions of nine injured people are out of danger, the sources added.  The body was sent to the morgue for autopsy.
