Bidi consumers demand lower price

Bangladesh Bidi consumers (Bangladesh Bidi Bhokta pokkho) have asserted that the conspiracy to close down bidi industry in next three years must be stopped. They have also demanded that bidi should be available at a lower price. They demand it in a press conference at the National Press Club in the city on Sunday, said a press release.
Mohammad Aslam, President and Haripad Saha, Secretary of the organization have presented their remarks in the press conference.  Komruddin, Entaj Mia, Manik Mia, Manik Talukdar, Al Amin Hossain and Babul Akter, bidi consumer among others were present at the press conference.
Mohammad Aslam said that, the bidi which could be bought on BDT 3/4 now cost more than 15 BDT. We have heard that price will be increased again. But our prime minister has said in a budget speech, poor people's smoke bidi and it should be made cheap for them.
