Two siblings killed in lightning strike in Jessore

Masud Hossain,14, his sister Sabura Khatun, 20, children of Rezaul Islam of Kaiba village under Sharsha upazila in Jessore were killed on the spot in lightning strike at their residence on Saturday evening.  Ziaur Rahman, in-charge, Baganchra police camp confirmed the information. Of the dead, Masud was a student of Class- VII at Baganchra Secondary
School while his sister was studying in Jessore Government Women College in honours class, Hasan Mostafa, chairman, Kaiba union council said.
Their mother Khadiza Begum was rushed to Jessore General Hospital as she felt sick after the sad demise of the siblings, locals said.
