Communications yet to restore in Ctg-Rangamati Highway

As many as 145 points of seven roads connecting Rangamati with Chittagong  have been damaged in landslides, according to  our correspondent quoti ng   the  spokesman  of  the  Roads and Highways Department, Raozan circle.
Thirty-seven of those points suffered extensive damages.Some landslide victims took shelter at the Open University building..
Locals fear a crisis of fuel oil and essentials in case of failure to repair the roads quickly. Communications with the district is snapped for four days after the parts of the roads vanished in the landslides.Army personnel at work at the Ghagra Kalabagan in Kawkhali Upazila of Rangamati.
People and goods are being transported only on boats from Chittagong via Kaptai.People are also taking risky hillside footpaths to cross the damaged parts of the roads.
A reliable sources said the scarcity of the essential commodities suffer severe due to non-movement of  the commodities from Chittagong .
A sources said  kerosene is being sold  at Tk.100 per liter and other essential commodities prices go high beyond buying capacity of the people.
