Eid shopping gains momentum in dists

 Eid shopping is gaining momentum in Narsingdi with the holy Eid-ul-Fitr drawing nearer.
People from all walks of life are rushing to the markets of the town to buy items of their choice for their nearest and dearest ones daily. Shoppers are seen very busy from morning to midnight everyday selling their goods.
The leading super markets, including Islam Plaza, Besal Shopping Center, Noin Tara Plaza, Index Plaza, Hm Plaza and Sharif manson are decorated with special gates and banners and illuminated to draw the attention of buyers.
The most crowded markets of the town are Noin Tar Plaza, Index Plaza, Sharif  Manson, Habib Market, Kalo Miha Market and Monsi Neaz Market where the people of the lower income group are seen very busy purchasing different things like saris, punjabis, children's dresses, cosmetics and shoes.
Footpaths of the main roads as well as the alleys are also occupied by the hawkers selling various items ahead of the Eid festival.
Swapon Kumar Sarker, owner of Shibani, a cloth shop of the Station Road, said The demand for cotton saris is still high in the markets and it's easy to sell saris, as their prices do not vary much.
Maksuda Akter a housewife from Rashulpur, said I purchased a set of three piece dress at Tk 700 from Monsi Neaz Market, but the same piece is sold at defferent super market shops at Tk 750 to 900.
Meanwhile, the colourfully decorated shopping places have worn festive looks while Men, women, adolescents, boys, students and youths are making rush in the markets for buying Eid items of their own sespite highr prices creating huge jams in the Narsingdi Pourashava.
Shop owners told this correspondent that sales were showing an upward trend since the last week.
A good number of boutique shops were set up by woman entrepreneurs in residential areas of the town to sell their handmade products. But they could not yet be able to attract the general customers due to high prices.
Young boys in residential areas of the town have also set up stalls to sell view cards. Boys and girls are buying greeting cards at cheap prices from these stalls.
Staff Reporter from Kishoreganj reports: The Holy-Eid-ul Fiter one of the major religious festivals of the Muslims in knocking at the door, shopping has gained momentum with great rush in the markets of Kishoreganj town.
Thousands of people are purchasing items of their own choice with huge enthusiasm despite spinal of prices of all kinds of clothes that last year.
Kishoeganj town dwellers are purchasing different type of cloths as shop owners are selling their commons (old items) giving discount and all attractive advertisement.
Markets like -Anowara Super Market, Bhuiyan Super Market, Poura Markt, Isha Khan Shoping Mall, Nirala Plaza, Shamsuddin Shopping, Rahamania Plaza, Rothkhola, Top Ten Shopping Mall, Manik Kazi Shopping, Alokaloy, Shaha Market, Terriputti, Jamal Market, Jalsa Shopping, New Market, Gourango Bazar, Bara-Bazar, Isha Khan road, Bata Bazar, Hossendi Complex, Cadate Iqbal Shopping are crowded with people.
Beside imitation jewellary fair has been going Gourango Bazar and Teriputti Traffic Police were also seen struggling to taken the situations at main road and shopping malls points.
RAB the elite force, police, anser are vigilant on the road and markets areas to check mugging snatching eve teasing and other unlawful activities.
BSS from Rajshahi adds: On the eve of holy Eid-ul-Fitr shopping in the silk shops and showrooms has gained momentum as Eid of Rajshahi people is interlinked with silk dress.
Since time immemorial, the people use silk wears during Eid festival in this region which is famous for quality silk production.
Silk fabrics, weaved and designed by local artisans, are on tremendous demand in the Eid markets of the city, with the moneyed people rushing to the city silk showrooms every day.
With attraction of eye-catching colour and design of the silk wears, large number of people irrespective of age and sex and especially the adolescents are humming towards the showrooms to collect their best choice.
As a result, employees of the silk factories are passing their busiest times both days and night. Silk factories in the BSCIC are also operating round the clock.
According to the sources concerned, silk wears valued at around Taka 30-35 crore are likely to be sold during the current Eid season.
Varieties of silk clothes namely bolaka karchupi, sui-suta katan, koti silk, joyashri, silk katan, water katan, jamdani katan, borkatan, dupiana, jhorna katan, shari, three piece, orna, panjabi-paijama, shirt, fatua and scarf are on display in every shop and showroom to attract the buyers.
The buyers from the richer class are also selecting and purchasing their best choice whatever the price is while the middle and low-income groups are seen bargaining with the sellers.
