70 including 13 female Jamaat activists held in Satkhira

Police, in special drives from Thursday night to this morning, arrested 70 persons, including 13 female activists of Jamaat-E-Islami, on various charges and recovered narcotics from eight upazilas of the district.
Police officials familiar with the drives said they were picked up from different areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 13 persons including three drug traders with 100-gram of ganja and 50 pieces of Yaba tablets, Kalaroa police 27 including one drug trader with 17 pieces of yaba tablets, and four bottles of Phensidyl, Tala Police 14 including 13 female activists of Jamaat-E-Islami, Kaliganj police three, Shyamnagar police four, Assasuni police five including three drug traders with 50-gram of ganja and four pieces of Yaba tablets, Patkelghata Thana police two and Debhata police arrested two accused.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, they added.
The arrestees were sent to jail.
