Bangali students call hartal in K`chhari for Sunday

UNB, Khagrachhari :
Parbatya Bangali Chhatra Parishad, an organisation of Bangali settlers in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, will enforce a daylong hartal in the district on Sunday protesting killing, abduction and extortion allegedly by Pahari terrorists. The organisaiton announced the shutdown programme at a press conference in the district town on Friday morning. Parbatya Bangali Chhatra Parishad district unit President M Moinuddin read out a written statement at the press conference.
It was alleged at the news conference that the hilly people are fed up at
 the continued killing, extortion and abduction by regional Pahari organisations.
The Parishad also demanded that the joint forces launch a drive to recover illegal arms and arrest the terrorists.
General Secretary of the district chapter of Parbatya Bangali Chhatra Parishad and Khagrachhari municipality councillor SM Masum Rana, and municipality unit President Md Rashedul Islam were, among others, present.
