Brazilian Ambassador to Bangladesh Wanja Campos Da Nobrega on Thursday paid a farewell call on President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban here.
During the meeting, the President lauded the role of Nobrega in strengthening bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the Federative Republic of Brazil and hoped that the ties would be strengthened further in coming days, President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told reporters.
President Hamid said Bangladesh and Brazil show indifferent stance on various regional and international issues and support each other.
He said Bangladesh and Brazil enjoy excellent friendly relations based on mutual respect, shared values of democracy, rule of law, human dignity and stance against terrorism and militancy.
Noting that Bangladesh produces many world-standard products like readymade garment (RMG), pharmaceutical items, knitwear and jute materials, Hamid called upon Brazil to import more these quality products from Bangladesh.
The Brazilian envoy highly praised the hospitality of Bangladesh people and said Bangladesh is advancing towards a marked development gradually.
Nobrega expressed gratitude to the President for extending cooperation in discharging her assignment in Bangladesh.
Secretaries concerned to the President were present.
