49 held with huge cannabis, Yaba tablets in Jessore

The Jessore police in its ongoing  raids detained 49 people along with 3,526 pieces of Yaba tablets, 1,480 grams of cannabis and some other illegal drugs raiding several places across the district in last 24 hours till Tuesday morning, a press release issued by Anisur Rahman, superintendent of police, Jessore said.  Abhaynagar police arrested 9 people along with 3,200 and 12 pieces of Yaba tablets from Prembagh and Bengal Textile Mills gate during the raids, the press release added.
Sources said illegal drugs such as Yaba tablets and cannabis are openly selling at several places under Nawapara industrial town including the said areas and wholesale fish market and several areas around Nawapara railway station.
