130th founding anniv of Ctg Port

2-day long Port Expo -17 begins from April 27

Chittagong Port  is going to observe the  130th  founding anniversary    on  April 25 next   with colourful celebrations.  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate   the  anniversary  function in  a video conference, port sources said.   In observance of the founding anniversary , a two day long  Port Expo-17   will be  inaugurated  at the n newly inaugurated Car Shed areas on 27th and 28th  instant  .  Stakeholders  from home and abroad  are expected to  be participated   in  this Expo to exhibition   their equipment and  port activities.
About 100 stalls will be setup to explore the port activities to the port users and beneficiaries. This was disclosed by Zafar Alam ,Member (Admin) Chitagong Port at the press   conference  held  at its conference hall yesterday afternoon.  
 It may be  mentioned here that Chittagong Port handled  23 lakh  TUEs of Container and 7 Core 70 lakh metric tons of bulk  cargo  during the last  year   and  achieved   ranks at  76th in  Loyyeds    list of  global container handling ports, sources said.
