Sports Reporter :
Imrul Kayes assured to perform his best in the upcoming Tri-Nation series and ICC Champions Trophy.
Imrul took part at the practice session at the BCB-NCA Ground in Mirpur on Saturday.
Kayes said to the newsmen, " If I get chance, I shall try to perform my best. If I don't get chance, I cannot show performance."
Imrul Kayes usually open the innings of Bangladesh. But sometimes his batting order was changed for the requirement of the team. But he has always chosen to play as an opening batsman. He feels better to perform as an opener.
Imrul said, " To open an innings is always a tough job. There is a competition among the batsmen of a team. I always prefer to open an innings. I start my career as an opener. I have a plan that I shall play as an opener during my career."
Meanwhile, Imrul Kayes failed to shine with the willow in his opening match of the Dhaka Metropolis Premier Division Cricket League. He played for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited against Victoria Sporting Club. He was dismissed for just eight runs. So, He is not satisfied with his performance.
Kayes said, " It was my first match of the League. I take time to habituate with the wicket and condition. Besides, We played in the Twenty20 format in Sri Lanka. After New Zealand tour, I didn't play in ODI cricket."
He said, " I hope that I shall bounce back in my next match. I also expect that I shall get rhythm in my next match."
